He famously ordered the planting of premium oak in the Forest of Tronçais to build warships for the Royal Navy. Three and a half centuries later, one legendary oak, named \"\"Morat\"\", reach its natural end of its lifespan in 2006. It was felled. Bruno Borie, the artistically minded proprietor of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, acquired it at auction for a significant sum. He then used this precious 350-year-old royal oak to craft a massive, 4,500-liter egg-shaped cask.
