• The plant is Salvia officinalis, a perennial herb with aromatic leaves used for culinary, medicinal, and wellness purposes.

• It grows well in Kenya's cool highlands and irrigated areas, such as Kiambu, Nakuru, Nyandarua, Nyeri, and Meru.

• The leaves are used fresh or dried to flavor stuffings, sauces, meat, soups, and teas. It's also used to produce essential oils for cosmetics and aromatherapy.
