A Belgian waffle mix made with wheat flour from Hokkaido. No yeast or fermentation is required, so you can easily prepare authentic Belgian-style waffles. For a crisp, crunchy texture, pearl sugar can be mixed into the dough.
Instructions
Makes about 6 Belgian waffles (about 10 cm)
Preparation time: about 50 minutes
Ingredients
Mix 200g
Unsalted butter 50g
Whole egg 50g (about 1 medium egg)
Milk 70mL
Vegetable oil To grease
Tools
Mixing bowl, spatula, plastic wrap, waffle maker, spoon
Preparation
Bring the butter and egg to room temperature.
1. Place the mix, butter, egg and milk in a bowl. Mix with a spatula until the dough comes together.
(If adding pearl sugar, mix it in after the dough has formed.)
2. Gather the dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap and let rest for about 10 minutes.
3. Preheat the waffle maker and lightly grease it with oil. Place one heaped spoonful (about 50–60 g) of dough in the centre and close the lid.
4. Cook for 5–6 minutes until the surface is golden brown.
Cooking temperature and time may vary depending on the waffle maker.
